April 3, 2019

In The Garden on Sanibel has planted a spirit tree - an olive tree because it represents love and charity - to benefit local non-profits. The April recipient is the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum and Education Foundation. Lisa Walsh, owner of In The Garden and R.S. Walsh Landscaping, explained that canvas tags will be available in the gift shop for $5, with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the monthly recipient. Purchasers can write well wishes or blessings on the tags and attach them to the tree. In The Garden will also match all tag sales. At 3889 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel, In The Garden is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 239-395-5859 or visit
