The Lee Coast Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, or MOAA, and the city of Sanibel will host the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 starting at 10:30 a.m.

Open to the public, the event will be held at City Hall, at 800 Dunlop Road.

Fred Bondurant, past chapter president of the Lee Coast Chapter of the MOAA, will officiate.

This year's guest speaker will be Michael Macray, who will speak about the World War 1 Armistice Agreement, which occurred 100 years ago on Nov. 11, 1918.

Mayor Kevin Ruane, City Manager Judie Zimomra and other dignitaries normally participate.

The BIG ARTS Concert Band will provide the music.

One aspect of the ceremony is the Remembrances, where veterans recall their military experiences and how they and others were affected by them. Any veteran who wishes to take part is welcome to do so.
