Monday After The Masters still registering teams

April 4, 2018

Only a couple of spots remain open for foursomes interested in the Monday After The Masters.

Designed to raise funds to support the Captiva Community Panel, the event will take place on April 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the South Seas Island Resort. With a shotgun start at 3 p.m., it will offer hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin contests, along with complimentary food and beverages and live entertainment.

Panel Member Michael Lanigan explained that the group is a volunteer board and there is no taxing authority in place. The event, along with one in March at the Rauschenberg estate, a cruise toward the end of year and a solicitation letter distributed annually, help raise funds to support the panel's work.

"The letter and the three social events provide funding for the panel to operate," he said.

Played on a nine-hole course, Monday After The Masters is open to 18 foursomes.

"We do have a few foursomes still available," Lanigan said.

"Hopefully, this thing gets sold out," he added.

The panel has organized the fundraiser a couple of years, with the last one called a success.

"It was a great turnout," Lanigan said. "Somebody did actually get a hole-in-one."
