Marjorie Scheminger Wilson, 82, of Sanibel, Florida died December 22, 2016. Marjorie Wilson is survived by her loving husband John, of more than 57 years and three grown children, son Andrew Wilson (Yi Wang) of Staten Island NY and two daughters, Ann Wilson and Janet Wilson both of Fort Myers, Florida. She is also survived by two grandsons Brendan and Evan Wilson of Staten Island, New York.
Marjorie graduated from Staten Island Academy, Wellesley College, Boston University, and has a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She served as a teacher at Perkins School for the Blind, a preschool teacher, an administrator at Child Care of Southwest Florida for 30 years, and an adjunct professor of early childhood education at Florida Southwestern State College, until her retirement in the spring of 2016. She brought her love and understanding of children to all those she encountered. She loved reading, cooking, and enjoyed traveling with her family around the world. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples on 6340 Napa Way, Naples, Florida 34116. A Staten Island service is TBA.
